How to restart the electric circuit

In Japan, an electric circuit (breaker) may turn down for using high voltage equipment too much.
This is an example how to fix for the Red Apt but this could be applied to any apts.

All the breaker switches (top of your entrance door) need to turn up in order to have all electricity.

If the breaker keeps turning off, that means you are doing any of the following, so turn up all the switches after fixing suspicious root cause.

1. You may be using multiple high voltage equipment...for example, please do not use 2 ACs, microwave, hair-dryer all at the same time.

2. You may be setting up both AC temp too high. (Please keep them under 25℃).

3. If AC is not working even all breaker switches up, unplug AC outlet for a few minutes to discharge the AC system and plug it again.

4. Distribute where you use the outlets. For example, do not use bunch of electric equipment (Laptop + music + all phone chargers + hair dryer + AC etc) only in 1 room. Spread them out if possible.

How to restart the gas to get hot water (for Blue Apt)

In Japan, whenever earthquake happens, some gas meters stop and need to be restarted.
The following is guide for re-start the gas for the Blue Apt, but can be applied to any JP apts.

Step 1. Turn off all water in the apt (or any equipment uses gas).

Step 2. Go outside and near the bike parking, there should be 6 of the following gas meters (Each belong to each room).
The most left one belongs to your apt.

Step 3. Remove the rubber cover (if there is one) and press the button until you see frequent red blinks (about after pressing for 10sec?).

Step 4. When this red blink starts, stop pressing and wait for 2-3 min.
During the red blinks, the gas  system is checking if there is any gas leak or not throughout the room.
When the red blink stops, go back to the room & turn on the hot water.
Wait for a few min until there is hot water.

How to buy PASMO card (At Shimokita station)

PASMO is the same as SUICA but issued by a different train company.
Both can be used for trains/buses/taxi/vending machines/convenience stores etc.


1. First, look for PASMO logo ticket machine　(Shimokitazawa South Exit ticket booth).

2. Then click ENGLISH

3. Then Issue a new PASMO and proceed.
